Latex Foam
Latex foam is a type of foam material made from the sap of rubber trees. It is often used in mattresses, pillows, cushions, and other bedding products due to its resilience, durability, and comfort properties. Latex foam can be produced using either the Dunlop or Talalay manufacturing process
-
Dunlop process: In this method, the latex sap is whipped into a froth and poured into a mold. The mold is then baked, allowing the latex to solidify into a foam. The Dunlop process typically results in a denser and firmer foam.
-
Talalay process: This process begins similarly to the Dunlop process, with the latex sap being whipped into a froth. However, in the Talalay process, the mold is only partially filled with latex foam. The mold is then vacuum-sealed to expand the foam evenly throughout the mold. Afterward, the latex is flash-frozen to stabilize its cellular structure before being baked. The Talalay process generally produces a lighter and more consistent foam with a softer feel compared to Dunlop latex.
